Not your father's Buick
A professor at Keio University in Japan came out with a new totally electric car that can go up to about 200 miles per hour with 590 horsepower. That's fast ... and strong! That means it could hit a quarter mile equal to a Ferrari 328 GTS (or overtake a Porsche Boxster like it was standing still).

The car, called KAZ, has no toxic emissions at all and does not require gasoline. It seats eight people comfortably, and all its wheels steer independently, so it can turn on a dime in spite of its big size.

Can you imagine a world where we don't even need oil anymore? Well, the people at Keio University can too!

You can read about the car here: http://www.kaz-style.com/en/index.html Or you can see the university's site about it here: http://web.sfc.keio.ac.jp/~hiros/kaz/

Comments:
not to take over your comments thing, but is that car real? It sounds too good to be true, so good in fact it would be the kind of thing that petrol (gasoline) companies would be TERRIFIED of, due to the fact that the main reason for not switching to low or no emissions cars is (well, other than the lack of availability of places to re-charge) is their lack of performance. Anyway, is there any way i can connect to these comments and/or your site from mine so I don't have to sit here for days waiting to see if I get a response?
(and do they have to make the word verification letters so difficult for those of us who should-wear-glasses-and-don't to see?)

Yeah, the car is real. I've seen it. But it's not in production yet. It was just invented at Keio University by a professor and his students. So who knows if it will ever actually go into mass production?

About your idea that petrol companies would not like this car, I agree. Remember that Japan is not a player in the oil / petrol (gasoline) market. They have no significant stake it in (i.e., they make no money from oil like other countries in the US, Europe and the Middle East do). They only make money from the cars themselves, not from the petrol used. I think that's why Japanese companies like Toyota, Lexus, and Honda offer Hybrid and electric cars. They can ask how to make the environment cleaner because they're not profiting from oil.

Anyway, that's my own theory ...

On a different topic, I agree the word verification letters suck. But its the best way to keep non-human spammers from flooding your blog with fake advertisements. Other than that, I have no idea how to link to your comments yet. Sorry, I just started this thing a month or so ago, so am just learning how to do it myself.

Anyway, thanks for your comments! They're interesting!
